Sex Addicts Therapy

Sex Addict and Sex Addiction – or otherwise called hypersexuality, Ego-dystonic Hypersexuality, Sexual Impulse Control Disorder, Sexual Compulsivity or Paraphilic and non-Paraphilic sexual behaviour. It is a Maladaptive pattern of sexual behaviour leading to clinically significant impairment or distress, as manifested by three or more number of key markers over a 12 month period. We know that brain development is a significant contributor. Mood altering sensations are enjoyable. Neurochemical changes – which the brain likes – helps to cope with the stresses and issues in life.

Porn Addicts Therapy

Porn viewing, like drugs and alcohol addiction tends to require increase or vary over time, to get the same level of arousal and stimulation. Sexual compulsive and addiction behaviours may include: Magazine pornography and / or Internet pornography (including phone and webcam use); Cybersex: Spending time online focused on sexual or romantic intrigue or involvement; Compulsive masturbation and / or Compulsive acting out; Using escorts and / or prostitutes; Chat rooms and social sites and / or Texting and visiting sex sites; Swinging and / or groups & Multiple flirtation and / or affairs; Sex binges and/ or fetishes and / or paraphilias.

Kairos Recovery Courses

All the Kairos Changement Recovery programme courses incorporate some of the topics from the full 26 weeks programme – gained from our evolving knowledge of Neuroscience. The addiction process is an interaction of impairments in three fundamental systems: Affect regulation, Motivation-reward and Behavioural inhibition. Treatment is focused on all three areas and so where there are unresolved past childhood issues, we will suggest consider EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) before moving on to the contents of this Recovery Programme. Then the client is in a better resourced, equipped and healed place to break the addiction.

Support For Partners

This is an understandable complaint don’t you think? Partners, that is NOT how it ought to be or need to remain. There is help for female partners of sex addicts. There is only a handful of women’s support groups for partners of sex addicts in a few parts of the country.
